at Long Beach State 80, UC Davis 58: Eugene Phelps scored a game-high 21 points as the 49ers routed the Aggies. Phelps made nine of 14 shots and grabbed nine rebounds for Long Beach (10-11, 4-4 Big West). Davis is 8-12, 4-4.
at Cal State Fullerton 74, UC Irvine 68: Orane Chin had career highs of 23 points and eight rebounds to help the Titans (10-10, 4-4 Big West) end a three-game conference losing streak. Michael Hunter scored 16 points, all in the second half, for the Anteaters (9-13, 3-7).
Pacific 72, at UC Riverside 57: The Highlanders’ national television debut on ESPN2 was spoiled by the first-place Tigers (14-6, 7-1 Big West). Riverside fell to 8-13, 2-7.
Cal State Northridge 76, UC Santa Barbara 69: Willie Galick scored 19 points for the Matadors (8-13, 3-5 Big West), whose second-leading scorer, Lenny Daniel, was indefinitely suspended for attitude and conduct detrimental to the team. The Gauchos (11-8, 6-3) were led by James Nunnally’s 21 points.
Cal State Bakersfield 57, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 53: Santwon Latunde had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Roadrunners (4-16). The Mustangs fell to 8-12.
San Diego 66, at Pepperdine 44: The Waves (7-16, 3-4 West Coast Conference), shot only 25% from the field (13 of 51), and Chris Manresa helped San Diego (9-14, 2-5) end a five-game losing streak with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
St. Mary’s 85, at Loyola Marymount 67: The Gaels (19-3, 6-1 WCC) were tough from long distance, making 12 of 27 three-point attempts. The Lions (11-12, 2-5) were led by Drew Viney and Kevin Young with 27 points apiece.
WOMEN
at UCLA 70, Oregon State 44: Markel Walker had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bruins (14-6, 7-2 Pac-10). Oregon State (9-10, 1-8) committed 29 turnovers, leading to 31 UCLA points.
Oregon 85, at USC 77: Taylor Lilley scored 36 points, making nine nine-pointers, for the Ducks (13-8, 4-5 Pac-10). The loss ended a five-game winning streak for the Trojans (13-7, 7-2).
