Another of Charlie Sheen’s cars is stolen
For the second time this year, someone has stolen actor Charlie Sheen’s car and driven it off Mulholland Drive.
A passerby called police at 2:53 a.m. Tuesday to report a car had been driven off a cliff in the 13300 block of Mulholland Drive, said Los Angeles Police Officer Carlos Amaya.
Firefighters said they found the silver 2010 Mercedes-Benz at the foot of a cliff. What they didn’t find was a driver, or a passenger.
Police traced the license plate number to Sheen and then went to his home a few miles away in Sherman Oaks. The actor told police he wasn’t aware that his vehicle was missing and told them he had last seen the car parked in his driveway at 4 p.m.
It wasn’t the first time one of Sheen’s car ended up on the wrong side of a cliff.
In a strikingly similar incident Feb. 5, someone stole Sheen’s 2009 Mercedes-Benz, which was parked in his open garage with the keys inside, and crashed it into a ravine on Mulholland Drive.
In that incident, police said they believe Sheen’s car was abandoned by burglars who had stolen items from garages in the actor’s neighborhood. Another car, a 2009 silver Bentley, was found at the side of the road, about 200 yards from Sheen’s car. The Bentley had been stolen from a nearby neighborhood.
Police said they don’t have any leads on who stole Sheen’s car on Tuesday, but have towed it to their facility to check for fingerprints.
Sheen’s bad run of luck with Mercedes-Benzes is just the latest bit of trouble for the actor, who has starred in the television comedy “Two and a Half Men” and the films “Platoon” and “Wall Street.”
Sheen was arrested Christmas Day in Aspen, Colo., on suspicion of assaulting his wife, who told authorities he had held a knife to her throat. He returns to court July 14 in that case.
