New storm brings rain, record low temperatures to L.A. area
Southern California woke up to rain Tuesday as a another May storm moved in.
Forecasters say the morning rain will give way to scattered showers in the afternoon.
Several record low temperatures were recorded in Southern California on Monday.
Long Beach Airport bottomed out at 49 degrees, breaking by one degree a record set in 1964, according to the National Weather Service.
UCLA recorded a low of 47 degrees. That broke a record of 48 degrees for the day set in 1953, the Weather Service said. Lancaster tied a 42-degree record that has stood since 1955.
Big Bear recorded a low of 25 degrees, which broke a record of 26 degrees recorded in 1995.
In Ventura County, Camarillo was hit 42 degrees, breaking by one degree a record set in 1955.
