747 flying a giant pattern of a ‘12’ above Washington for Super Bowl
About 12,000 feet above the state of Washington, aerospace giant Boeing Co. is flying a 747 jumbo jet painted in the colors of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks in the pattern of a massive “12.”

The flight is a publicity move by Boeing, which is a sponsor of the Seattle Seahawks football team. The Seahawks are set to play the Denver Broncos in next Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVIII.
The 747-8 is owned by Boeing and is being used for flight testing. The number 12 is a salute to the team’s fans, collectively known as being the Seahawks “12th man.”
Boeing revealed the jumbo jet’s special paint with the blue and neon green Seahawks logo and a “12” on the tail Wednesday.
Boeing, which manufactures much of its commercial aircraft in the Seattle-area, says there are just the two test pilots on board for the 4-hour-50- minute flight.
