Want to put a man’s heart aflutter? Try Pizza Hut perfume
Nothing like the heady whiff of pepperoni to set a man’s heart afire.
It began as a gag, but now it’s a reality: Pizza Hut perfume, featuring subtle “notes of freshly baked, hand-tossed dough,” according to a company news release.
Pizza Hut Canada’s marketing firm, Grip Ltd., had posted something on Facebook asking what people would call a perfume that captured the enticing aroma of a Pizza Hut pizza. It was a joke.
But thousands of Facebookers responded, some asking where they could find such an enticing scent. So Pizza Hut obliged.
“The limited edition perfume was designed to commemorate Pizza Hut Canada reaching 100,000 Facebook fans,” the company says. “Only 110 bottles were produced and shared with lucky Facebook fans who won a bottle by being among the first to share their desire for Pizza Hut perfume.”
And there’s a chance Pizza Hut perfume will soon grace department-store shelves, the company says.
This isn’t the first time a fast-food chain has dabbled in the cosmetics biz. A few years ago, Burger King unveiled “Flame by BK” body spray for men. It supposedly gave guys the hard-to-resist smell of grilled meat.
But let’s face it, you can’t top a freshly baked pizza for sex appeal.
That is, until Krispy Kreme unveils a doughnut-scented fragrance. Then all bets are off.
