Hot Property: Former Clippers All-Star Danny Manning selling two homes

Danny Manning, the retired NBA forward and new head coach of the Wake Forest men’s basketball team, has put a pair of homes, one in Lawrence, Kan., and the other in Tulsa, Okla., up for sale.

Manning left the Tulsa men’s basketball program, where he had served as head coach for the last two years, to take over the Demon Deacons in April. Shortly thereafter, he listed his house in Tulsa for sale at $725,000.

The 2012 traditional, which is currently pending sale, has 4,409 square feet of living space with four bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The two-story floor plan counts an office and a game room among its features. Outdoors, there is a pool, fire pit and a basketball half-court.

Manning and his wife, Julie, purchased the home in July 2012 for $667,500, according to property records. Blake Loveless of Walter & Associates Inc. is the listing agent.

On the market in Lawrence, where Manning won a national championship with the Kansas Jayhawks in 1988 and was an assistant coach from 2006 to ‘12, is an estate and adjoining lot owned by the former basketball star.

The property, first spotted by Busted Coverage, currently lists for sale at $2.225 million and includes a main home of 7,798 square feet, a pool and a gym with a weight room. Like his Tulsa home, the estate features a basketball half-court. Kay Johnson of McGrew Real Estate is the listing agent.

Manning, 48, was selected No. 1 overall in the 1988 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite suffering a number of knee injuries during the course of his professional career, he played 15 seasons for seven teams, making two All-Star teams and earning the NBA’s sixth man of the year award in 1998.
