Hot Property: Former Chargers RB Darren Sproles rushing to list New Orleans home
With his ticket punched for Philadelphia, Darren Sproles is rushing to put New Orleans in the rear-view mirror.
The NFL tailback, dealt by the Saints to the Eagles during the off-season, has listed his town house in Metairie, La., for sale at $650,000.
The three-story residence features built-in shelving, hardwood flooring and vaulted ceilings. The 3,800 square feet of living space contain an updated kitchen, great room with a fireplace, three bedrooms and three full baths.
Records show that Sproles paid $595,000 for the property in September 2011 -- roughly one month after signing a four-year, $14-million contract with the Saints. Angela Discon of Keller Williams Realty is the listing agent.
Sproles, 30, was drafted in 2005 by the San Diego Chargers, where he spent his first six seasons. While with New Orleans in 2011, he set an NFL record for all-purpose yards in a season with 2,696.
The running back and his wife, Michel, retain a 4,800-square-foot estate in San Diego County that they purchased in 2012 for $2.5 million.
