J.K. Simmons looks to flip out of property in Del Mar
Actor J.K. Simmons has listed an estate for sale in Del Mar at $4.495 million. The property was purchased less than a year ago for $3.94 million.
Enclosed by fencing and a wall of mature hedges, the estate dubbed El Paradisio encompasses more than 1.6 acres of tropically landscaped grounds containing a contemporary main residence, a detached casita and a guesthouse.
The 8,763 square feet of living space, rebuilt in 2004, includes a multimedia/family room, a formal dining room, a study, seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The 100-pair shoe closet has built-in organizers.
Architectural details include curved walls, recessed curtains and tray ceilings. The living room is topped by a domed ceiling displaying a custom hand-painted mural with multicolored fiber-optic lighting.
A lighted tennis court sits near the custom-designed saline swimming pool with a waterfall. Mature fruit trees, an organic vegetable garden, a jogging path, a Zen-inspired garden and a gazebo dining area complete the grounds.
Simmons, 61, is known for a variety of movies including “Whiplash” (2014) and “Spider-Man” (2002) as well as the series “The Closer” (2002-15). He’ll star in the upcoming film “The Runaround.”
