Meteorologist Jackie Johnson finds a sunny spot in Malibu’s Point Dume
Jackie Johnson, a familiar face in L.A.’s evening news scene, has bought a home in Malibu for $3.65 million.
The single-story home, built in 1957 and newly remodeled by Saffron Case Homes, is an ideal spot from which to observe atmospheric conditions. Sliding walls of glass allow for indoor-outdoor living, while bringing natural light into the interiors. Views from the acre-plus property take in the surrounding canyons.
The 2,200 square feet of open-plan space includes a formal entry, a living room with vaulted ceilings, a galley-style kitchen, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. In the master suite, there’s a walk-in closet and a glass-enclosed indoor-outdoor shower.
Outdoors, a swimming pool sits level with the wooden deck space. Elsewhere is a concrete fire pit feature.
The property came up for sale in October for $3.9 million, records show. Prior to that, it sold in 2015 for $2.2 million.
Michael Cunningham of Pinnacle Estate Properties was the listing agent and also represented the buyer, according to the Multiple Listing Service. The sellers were designer/developer Saffron Case and her husband, producer Tim Case.
Johnson, a weather forecaster at KCBS-TV and KCAL9, came to the stations more than a decade ago from WSVN-TV in Miami.
