Netflix exec Ted Sarandos puts stately Beverly Hills Colonial on the block

Producer and Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos and his wife, former ambassador Nicole Avant, have put their home in the Beverly Hills flats area on the market for $9.35 million.

The couple bought the house five years ago from fashion designer Max Azria and his wife, Lubov, for $5.41 million.

Set on more than one-third of an acre, the walled Monterey Colonial Revival-style house is accessed by a circular drive that leads to a gated motor court. A steep, shingled roofline, dormer windows and white trim lend a storybook quality to the 1920s home.

Clad in dark wood floors and crown molding, remodeled interiors include formal living and dining rooms, a kitchen with a breakfast bar and a wide covered loggia that opens to the grounds. The master suite has a fireplace, a terrace and his-and-hers baths for a total of five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms in 6,138 square feet.

Outdoors, the hedged setting centers on a swimming pool and spa surrounded by brick. Expanses of grass and formal landscaping complete the setting.

Sarandos, 51, has overseen content acquisition for Netflix since 2000, including the streaming media service’s shift toward original programming.

Avant, 47, served as the U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas from 2009 to 2011.
