Former Angel Tim Salmon puts log cabin retreat up for sale

Longtime Angels outfielder Tim Salmon has put a cabin retreat in Flagstaff, Ariz., up for sale for about $4 million.

The log-cabin-style home, built in 2001, sits on more than an acre at the Forest Highlands community with golf course and vista views. Stone accents, knotted wood finishes and antler chandeliers are in keeping with the rustic theme of the home, which has six bedrooms and six bathrooms in more than 6,400 square feet.

Among features is a center-island chef’s kitchen, a lofted game room and a formal living room with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and a vaulted ceiling. The master suite is outfitted with an office, a soaking tub and private patio.

Outdoors, the relaxed grounds center on a covered patio with a built-in barbecue, a wet bar and a fire pit.

The retired outfielder, who makes his home in the Scottsdale area, purchased the property in 2001 for $845,000, Coconino County records show. Mary Mendoza of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing.

Salmon, the 1993 rookie of the year, spent his entire 15-year career with the Angels and won a World Series title with the team in 2002. He retired in 2006 with a franchise-best 299 home runs.
