Onetime home of pop star Britney Spears was Calabasas’ top sale of 2017

The affluent city of Calabasas is mainly known, at least in the modern sense, for its ability to attract celebrities. See Drake’s “4PM in Calabasas.” Others on the city’s A-list include various “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” personalities, former Clipper Chris Paul and rock musician Tommy Lee.

After recording nearly 100 home sales of $2 million or more in 2016, Calabasas missed the century mark by a wide margin in 2017. For the year, there were 65 home sales of $2 million or more, including eight transactions of $4 million or more. Here’s a look at Calabasas’ most expensive sales last year.

$8.1 million – Prado De Los Suenos

Setting the bar high in Calabasas is a custom-built Chateau-style home formerly owned by television producer David Broome and once leased by pop star Britney Spears.

Broome, creator of “The Biggest Loser,” sold the estate in June.

The home’s highlight is a wood-paneled two-story library complete with a private office, bar and fireplace. Also included in the 10,559 square feet of living space is an interior courtyard lined with French terra cotta pavers and a limestone fountain.

Isadora and Tomer Fridman, Dana Olmes and Jeff Biebuyck of Compass co-listed the property with Bjorn Farrugia and Alphonso Lascano of Hilton & Hyland. Emil Hartoonian of the Agency represented the buyer.

$6.925 million – Park South Street

YouTube star Jake Paul bought this 15,000-square-foot mansion on Park South Street in October, The Times previously reported.

Set on 3.5 acres, the Mediterranean-vibe estate features an iron-and-glass front door that opens to a grand three-story entry. A spiral staircase leads upstairs, where the wood-paneled master suite — one of eight bedrooms — holds a fireplace and private balcony.

A free-form swimming pool, two barbecue centers, patios and lawns make up the grounds.

Marc and Rory Shevin of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices held the listing. Josh and Matthew Altman of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer.

A little south of Paul’s new crib, this Tuscan-style villa sold in June for $1.285 million less than the original asking price.

Set at the end of a circular driveway, the 2001-built home has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Manicured gardens hold fruit and palm trees, while 8,152 square feet of living space includes two formal living rooms, a theater and a wine cellar.

Upper-level balconies look out onto the grounds that feature patios and fire pits surrounding a pool and spa.

Marilyn Cohen of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties was the listing agent. Paul Ferra of Coldwell Banker Residential repped the buyer.

$4.935 million – Mulholland Highway

Walls of glass, 12-foot-high coffered ceilings and four Italian stone fireplaces highlight the nearly 6,000 square feet of living space within this French country-style home.

French doors open to a central courtyard with a fireplace. Upstairs, the master suite opens to a private balcony.

Completed last year, the five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home entered the market in March for $4.95 million and sold in about four months, records show.

Paul Ferra of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage handled both ends of the sale.

$4.875 million – Country Ridge Road

The centerpiece of a 12-acre lot, this six-bedroom home features a master suite on each of its two levels.

Beamed ceilings and hardwood floors accent the open-plan living spaces, and a wall of glass in the great room opens to an outdoor living room with a fireplace. Also within the grounds is a guesthouse and a swimming pool.

Built in 2016, the Spanish-style estate hit the market in January for $5.295 million. It sold in May to a blind trust, records show.

John Herkenrath of the Agency held the listing. Chris Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage represented the buyer.
