Amazon continues promoting Kindle Fire HDX with Giving Tuesday special

Cyber Monday is over, but Amazon.com is still promoting the Kindle Fire HDX by promising customers that it will donate $20 for every tablet that is purchased on Tuesday through Sunday, as part of Giving Tuesday.

The offer applies when customers buy a 7-inch or an 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX through AmazonSmile, a program recently launched by Amazon. When a customer buys select items through AmazonSmile, the Seattle online retailer will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to a charity of the customers’ choosing.

The charity offer comes one day after Amazon marked down the 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX $50 from its regular price of $229 as part of Cyber Monday.

Recently, the day after Cyber Monday has come to be known as Giving Tuesday. The holiday is intended to encourage consumers to give back to charities.

Customers interested in purchasing a Kindle Fire HDX through AmazonSmile can head to https://smile.amazon.com/kindle20.

Once the Web page loads, the retailer will ask customers to pick the charity they would like Amazon to donate to. Customers can pick from nearly a million organizations, according to the company.
