Google may finally be solving its fragmentation problems with Android devices. For the first time ever, Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android, surpassed Gingerbread, a version released in late 2010. Jelly Bean now accounts for nearly 40% of Android users.

Yelp launches food delivery service

Yelp kicked off a new food delivery and pickup service Tuesday called Yelp Platform. Orders can be placed on Yelp’s website and iOS app.

Dropbox expands syncing to feature more types of files

The cloud-storage company is looking to phase out hard drives by expanding its service to sync files that include data from game and email apps. Dropbox will do this with new developer tools it unveiled Tuesday.

Apple and Amazon.com stop lawsuit over “App Store” name

Apple is no longer suing rival Amazon.com over the use of the “App Store” name. Apple, which launched its store five years ago, sued Amazon in March 2011 when the online retailer launched the Amazon Appstore. Now, Apple says it no longer sees a need to pursue the lawsuit and the case has been dismissed.

Google adds “rich” notifications to Chrome beta on Windows

The beta version of Google Chrome for Windows will now display rich notifications. That means users can get notifications about new email, calender events and other alerts in a format that resembles what users may get on their smartphones. They could include “rich” text, pictures and the ability to complete tasks without closing the notification. For example, users could get an alert from their Google Calendar, which they can mark as completed from the notification.
