Billy Crystal to bring ‘700 Sundays’ back to Broadway
Billy Crystal announced Tuesday he will bring his Tony-winning play “700 Sundays” back to Broadway one last time.
The production will have a nine-week run this fall at the Imperial Theatre, with previews starting Nov. 5 and an opening date set for Nov. 13. Des McAnuff will direct.
Crystal penned the one-man, autobiographical play, in which the Emmy winner plays several rounds of characters that left an imprint on his life while growing up in New York.

Crystal called the play “the most satisfying experience of my career.
“I’ve now decided to tell this story one last time in my own backyard, where it all took place,” he said in a statement. “It is a privilege to return to Broadway to say goodbye to one of the greatest thrills of my life.”
“700 Sundays” debuted on Broadway in 2004 and quickly set box office records.
In its opening week, the production took in the highest weekly gross at the Broadhurst Theatre and earned more than $21 million by the end of its run.
The production won the 2005 Tony for special theatrical experience and toured across the country and internationally, with stops in Canada and Australia.
