The wonders of the world, displayed in Cinerama

Movie audiences were astonished in 1952 watching “This Is Cinerama,” the box office hit that introduced the unique wide-screen process. Images from three synchronized 35mm projectors were screened simultaneously on a massive, deeply curved screen that engaged viewers’ peripheral vision. Besides “This Is Cinerama,” two feature films and four travelogues were made in the process. Flicker Alley and Cinerama Inc. have just released two of those these restored travelogues on Blu-ray/DVD: “Seven Wonders of the World” (1956) and 1957’s “Search for Paradise.” Extras include documentaries, interviews and trailers.
