Golden Globes 2014: Telecast draws its biggest audience in 10 years
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have again proved themselves as ratings boosters for the Golden Globes.
Sunday night’s 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards telecast drew an average of 20.9 million viewers, according to Nielsen, the gala’s biggest audience in 10 years.
That’s up 6% from last year, the first time Fey and Poehler hosted, and 24% from two years ago when Rick Gervais did the honors.

The most-watched Golden Globes on record since NBC started airing it is still 2004, which brought in 26.8 million viewers on average. For that go-around, which did not have a host, “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King” earned the most awards.
Fey and Poehler will return to the Golden Globes stage next year.
