TV ratings: CBS’ ‘Big Brother’ wins key demo, NBC wins night overall
As contestants continue to battle to become Head of Household on CBS’ “Big Brother,” the show continues to top TV ratings.
With a rating of 2.1 in the key 18-to-49-year-old demographic, “Big Brother” earned the No. 1 spot in the desired category, according to Nielsen.
The privacy deprivation show, though down 9% from last week’s rating of 1.8, averaged 6.3 million viewers, earning it the No. 2 spot overall.
Also on CBS, Halle Berry’s sci-fi series “Extant” earned a rating of 1.0 in the key demo. The show, which averaged 5.9 million viewers, was down 9% from last week, tying with its series low in Live + Same Day ratings.
NBC, which aired episodes of “America’s Got Talent” and “Taxi Brooklyn,” tied with CBS for most viewed network in the key demo, with a rating of 1.4.
“America’s Got Talent,” down 9% from last week with a rating of 2.0 in the key demo, averaged 10 million viewers, elevating it to the most watched program overall.
About 7.1 million people tuned in to NBC, making the network the No. 1 most watched of the night.
Spanish-language network Univision was the third-most-watched network of the night in the key demo, with a rating of 1.3. The network aired episodes of its telenovas “Lo Que la Vida Me Robo” and “Mi Corazon es Tuyo.”
