Zac Efron delivers shirtless goodness with MTV Movie Awards win

For Zac Efron, it appears that one awesome shirtless performance has led right to another, as he accepted his MTV Movie Award half naked on Sunday night.

The actor, who won the trophy for shirtless performance by stripping down in “That Awkward Moment,” had promised in March to take off his top for the awards if he beat Chris Hemsworth’s hotness in “Thor.” At first, it seemed as if he wasn’t going to follow through on his pledge. But with Rita Ora providing a bit of stripping assistance — she came up behind him and ripped open his snap-closure shirt — he eventually delivered.

“If I beat Thor- I’m accepting the award shirtless on stage. #movieawards,” he’d tweeted last month. Can’t promise something like that and not deliver, Mr. E.

“Wow. Thank you so much, guys. ...Ths is an awesome award. I really don’t know what to say, but , thank you, thank you so much to my fans,” he said with a self-conscious smile Sunday night before Ora’s attack. He then shed the whole shirt, whipping it around and tossing it away, then sealing the deal with a triumphant muscle flex.

Now, Efron (that’s eff-ron, not ee-fron) did seem ready to show it all off, starting with that snap shirt and following up with a healthy tan and sculpted abs and chest. “Be prepared” and all that (something he wasn’t recently when he supposedly “ran out of gas” on a freeway offramp in downtown L.A. in the middle of the night).

Ora seemed pleased with herself, posting on Instagram, “Oh yeah this happened....it’s ok you guys can thank me later!,” along with a montage of four shirtless shots of Efron onstage. She presented at the awards along with Jessica Alba, who was the one screwing up Efron’s name along the way.

He would later take the stage fully clothed with Seth Rogen and Dave Franco to present the golden popcorn for best kiss, won by Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter for their three-way smooch in “Meet the Millers.”

“What a crazy night!,” the actor tweeted afterward. “Thanks to all the fans who made it possible!”
