Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa are among the pop acts vying for original song at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. announced Thursday.

The competition for original song is a tight one.

Smith’s Bond theme “Writing’s on the Wall,” Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” and “See You Again,” a collaboration between rap star Khalifa and Puth, are among the high-profile selections.

Brian Wilson scored a nomination for “One Kind of Love,” from “Love & Mercy,” the biopic that covered two periods in the life of the Beach Boys co-founder. David Lang’s “Simple Song #3,” from “Youth,” rounds out the category.

“See You Again,” which appeared on the “Furious 7” soundtrack and served as a tribute to the film’s late star, Paul Walker, was a monster of a hit — sitting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 nonconsecutive weeks, tying Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” for the longest-running rap No. 1, and landing three Grammy nods including song of the year and song written for visual media.

One major snub in the category? “Earned It,” the Weeknd’s slinky and titillating BDSM anthem.

The steamy bedroom number led the “Fifty Shades of Grey” soundtrack and helped break the enigmatic alt-R&B singer to pop audiences when it hit No. 1 on the Top 40.

It’s up for a few Grammys, including R&B performance and song, as well as song written for visual media.

Goulding’s glittery electropop contribution to the “Fifty Shades” soundtrack, “Love Me Like You Do,” made the cut instead.
