Country voters recognized the Zac Brown Band’s something-for-almost-everyone approach on its third studio album, “Uncaged,” which generated mostly positive if not exactly glowing reviews upon its release last year. It scored a 72 out of a possible 100 on Metacritic.com’s aggregate of reactions in various publications.

The Georgia-based group brings a good-time spirit to most of what it plays, with often-predictable odes to short- or long-term escape from the drudgery of workaday life occasionally elevated by Brown’s earnest vocals and the band’s sharp instrumental interplay.

Last year’s winner, Lady Antebellum’s “Own the Night,” made it two in a row for the country trio after their debut, “Need You Now,” sealed the group’s mainstream breakthrough at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

The Grammys are determined by about 13,000 voting members. The eligibility period for nominated recordings was Oct. 1, 2011, to Sept. 30, 2012. The 2013 awards are being held at Staples Center and telecast on CBS-TV. They are broadcast live except for viewers on the West Coast.
