Amanda Bynes takes a walk — with a shirt over her face

What the heck, Amanda Bynes? The retired actress kept it, ahem, low-key on Tuesday in New York, walking around in a mismatched miniskirt and busting-out bustier with — you guessed it, because who wouldn’t guess it — a shirt over her face.

Through Times Square and in and out of a McDonald’s.

With a shirt over her face.

Check out the action in the video above. Accompanying the please-don’t-look-at-me-are-you-looking-at-me-now antics were a bunch of self-portraits posted on Twitter, where she flaunted some bodacious cleavage and proclaimed herself to be “Feeling so fresh today.”

Because what’s fresher than a shirt over the face?

But wait! There’s an explanation! Of sorts, at least.

“My selfies we’re taken after those paparazzi photos,” Bynes tweeted Tuesday evening. “I was walking to a photo shoot for my clothing line & perfume line that’s in the works!”

Some of the pap pics, incidentally, showed her actual face instead of the shirt-face.

So now we know the chronology of the images. And we know why she was walking around. And the shirt, incidentally, showed up in the selfies as well, albeit not on her face, so we know that it belongs in her wardrobe.

We just don’t know what the heck is up with Amanda Bynes.
