Christina Aguilera engaged to Matthew Rutler

Christina Aguilera is engaged to boyfriend Matthew Rutler, the singer and “The Voice” coach announced Friday afternoon on Twitter.

“He asked and I said ...... ,” she tweeted, along with a picture of them holding hands, flashing her giant diamond engagement ring, set against a tropical background.

Nice Valentine’s Day surprise, eh?

Aguilera and Rutler met when she was making “Burlesque” in 2010 and he was working on the movie as a production assistant. They reportedly started dating six weeks after she filed for divorce from music producer Jordan Bratman, whom she’d married in 2005.

She put in the papers on Oct. 14, 2010, and six months later the split was a done deal: Aguilera’s divorce from Bratman was finalized three years ago.

The singer and Bratman have a son together, 6-year-old Max.
