Eva Mendes, skilled liar, comes clean to Ellen DeGeneres

Eva Mendes just got an education from Ellen DeGeneres: Do not lie on national TV, because one particular funny lady is not about to forget.

The actress, who welcomed a baby girl with Ryan Gosling in mid-September, had flat-out fibbed to the talk-show host when she denied pregnancy rumors back in February.

DeGeneres’ welcome to Mendes in an interview airing Wednesday? “Congratulations, liar!”

The last time Mendes was on the show, she blamed the preggers rumors on her refusal to go through a “creepy” airport security scanner, saying, “They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there’s a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out.”

Fortunately the actress was wearing a dress for that appearance, as pants definitely would have caught on fire.

But wait -- seems she doesn’t think she earned her liar label.

“Not really,” Mendes told DeGeneres, “because I was so early on and all moms will understand you’re not supposed to tell anybody ... well, certainly not the world, during your first trimester.

“And my mother didn’t even know yet! So that would’ve been an awkward phone call, you know, like, ‘Hey Mom, did you catch “Ellen” today?’”

DeGeneres then exacted her revenge by flashing on the screen a photo of little Esmerelda as conceived by Photoshopping together images of her hottie parents. The result was, to say the least, not gorgeous.

“Oh my God. I can’t stop staring. Wow,” said Mendes. “Very exotic.”

The 40-year-old new mom shared that, surprise, she’s exhausted -- more than she’d ever imagined -- but wouldn’t have it any other way.

Mendes, who looked healthy and curvy in a red dress, said that although she’s not planning to “bounce back” immediately, body-wise, she’s been making good choices regarding food and has been breastfeeding.

“I’ve always heard it -- it really does actually help shrink your uterus back to size. I know it’s a weird thing to say.”

And where was Esmerelda while mommy was chatting it up on TV?

“Yeah, she’s hanging out with the dogs,” Mendes joked.

Liar! Again with the lying!

“And her grandma.”

That’s more like it, Ms. Mendes.
