Gwyneth Paltrow named world’s most beautiful woman for 2013

Gwyneth Paltrow has been named the world’s most beautiful woman for 2013 in People’s annual list of, well, beautiful famous ladies.

“When I first heard that I was going to be on the cover of People’s most beautiful issue, I honestly thought someone was playing a joke on me and I had to reread the email three times,” the 40-year-old said in a behind-the-scenes video about the photo shoot. “I was like, ‘This can’t be true.’”

Also included on the list: Kerry Washington, Amanda Seyfried, Jane Fonda, Jennifer Lawrence, Kelly Rowland, Halle Berry, Drew Barrymore, Pink and Zooey Deschanel, to name a few. It’s kind of cute, we think, because Deschanel’s “New Girl” is Paltrow’s current favorite TV show. Birds of a feather?

Last year’s honor went to Paltrow pal Beyonce, who said at the time, “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth.”

Paltrow, who’s had two kids with hubby Chris Martin, is mostly glad to be out of her 20s.

“I feel my most beautiful when I am truly myself, meaning, when I accept exactly where I am in time and space and I’m not judging myself in any way, and I feel that i have the peace that comes with loving yourself and all of your flaws,” she said.

She said her definition of beauty has changed from “Barbie doll” to seeing how “beauty really does ... emanate from within.”

“When you sit with somebody who has true wisdom and true insight, they all of a sudden look physically very beautiful.”

And to think, it was only last week that Paltrow was named Hollywood’s most hated woman in Star magazine’s annual poll of Tinseltown’s most irritating. Could it be because of the loving-all-your-flaws thing? Or the wisdom-and-insight part?

C’mon, folks, don’t hate her ‘cause she’s beautiful.
