Jennifer Lopez shuts down rumors linking her to Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Jennifer Lopez’s love life remains as intriguing as ever: The newly single diva has shut down rumors that she’s already started dating.

The “I Luh Ya Papi” songstress took to Twitter late Wednesday after a spate of reports surfaced linking her to “Dancing With the Stars” pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, her partner in a Celia Cruz tribute at the American Music Awards last November.

Lopez recently called it quits with former dancer Casper Smart, and various outlets reported that she’d already moved on from her beau of more than two years. Chmerkovskiy was the latest man to be linked to Jenny from the Block.

However, Us Weekly reported Thursday that Lopez and the Ukrainian ballroom dancer, whom she met through her BFF Leah Remini, were “just friends.”

J. Lo had already shut down the rumor herself before taking the stage to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Lopez took to Twitter after Pittsburgh radio station Qburgh (92.9 FM) purported that she was already dating someone new.

“No I’m not. #rumors #nottrue #AKAinstoresJune17 :)” she wrote Thursday morning, adding a plug for her upcoming album, “A.K.A.”

When a fan asked to clarify whether she hadn’t broken up or simply wasn’t dating now, she replied: “No I’m not. (dating anyone new already.)”

In a new sit-down interview with The Times’ Gerrick Kennedy, Lopez addressed her storied love life, the effect her 2011 split from third husband Marc Anthony has had and how she’s drawn from it for “A.K.A.”

“These last four years, I felt like I really had to look at myself. One of the things I realized was I had to love myself a little bit more,” Lopez said. “That was a huge lesson for me. My kids [she and Anthony had twins in 2008] taught me that. They teach you a sort of unconditional kind of love and what it should feel like. It’s very selfless and pure.

“The breakup just made me go make some real realizations about myself. When you get to the point of loving yourself ... you start going, ‘OK, well, who am I?’ Myself happens to be many things. Do I love all those parts? The good parts, the messy parts. And when I said that, so many things happened for this album.”
