Joan Rivers rails: Palestinians ‘started it’ with Israel
Joan Rivers is definitely not one of those celebrities who avoid paparazzi outside the airport. In fact, she just used such an opportunity to go on an absolute tear, defending Israel and slamming the mainstream media.
Rivers held nothing back outside LAX on Thursday as she answered a TMZ video guy’s question regarding the current flare-up of violence between Israel and the Palestinians.
“If New Jersey were firing rockets into New York, we’d wipe ‘em out. ... If we heard they were digging tunnels from New Jersey to New York, we would get rid of New Jersey,” the comic said passionately. “So I don’t want to hear any more ‘We’ll have a partial truce.’”
She also didn’t flinch when asked where civilians should go when Israel fires retaliatory rockets into Palestinian territory. The answer? She didn’t care. And they shouldn’t put weapon caches in civilian homes.
“They started it. You’re all insane,” she said. “They started it. What are you all saying? They started it.”
Presumably the “you” she meant was the mainstream media, which in her opinion has not presented the story well.
“The BBC should be ashamed of themselves,” Rivers said, “and CNN should be ashamed of themselves, and everyone stop it already.”
Not shy, that one.
