Kim Kardashian reveals baby weight gain and loss, plans to eat her placenta

When Kim Kardashian hosts a livestream, you can expect a few celebrity guests, plenty of name-dropping and a few personal revelations.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star posted video on her website and app on Monday night that featured her stepdad, Caitlyn Jenner, coming over to make deep-dish pizza sent to them by E! personality Giuliana Rancic. She also revealed how much weight she gained during her second pregnancy with son Saint West — and how much she’s already lost since giving birth on Dec. 5.

“So I gained 60 pounds,” Kardashian tells Jenner as they move around her mom Kris Jenner’s kitchen. (The 34-year-old moved back into her mother’s Calabasas home after giving birth to son Saint West this month.)

“I started off at 130. I gained 60 pounds that’s 190. 1-9-0. I almost died,” she said.

The “Selfish” author said she’s about 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-3 and weighed 124 pounds when she married rapper Kanye West in May 2014, about 11 months after giving birth to their daughter North.

“I really need to get down to 120. So I’m saying I have to lose 70 pounds because those extra 10 pounds you carry are so annoying to get rid of and I never got rid of them last time,” she continued. “I have 70 pounds to lose and so far. By my healthy eating ... today I got on the scale and I’m 17 pounds down. That’s good, right?”

After the birth of North, the social-media maven avoided public appearances for months and limited her online activity, but this time around she’s been readily available online to share her latest developments.

Still, details of her postpartum life have been the talk of the gossips, including her painful delivery and issues with placenta accreta.

Kardashian revealed that after North’s birth, she suffered from the high-risk pregnancy complication in which the placenta invades and is inseparable from the uterine wall and said that she had to have her placenta painfully scraped out.

Sources also told TMZ that the couple would probably have to stop at two kids because another pregnancy would be too dangerous for the starlet and any future children.

Though Kardashian hasn’t addressed those particular reports, this week she shared that she plans to eat her placenta.

“When I say ‘eat my placenta,’ I mean that I’m having it freeze-dried and made into a pill form — not actually fry it like a steak and eat it (which some people do, BTW),” she wrote on her website.

“I heard so many stories when I was pregnant with North of moms who never ate their placenta with their first baby and then had postpartum depression, but then when they took the pills with their second baby, they did not suffer from depression! So I thought, why not try it? What do I have to lose?”

Kardashian shared a photo of the capsules pristinely packaged in a personalized mason jar.

“I really didn’t want the baby blues and thought I can’t go wrong with taking a pill made of my own hormones — made by me, for me. I started researching and read about so many moms who felt this same way and said the overall healing process was so much easier,” she said, adding that she had “great results” and no signs of depression after giving birth to North.

“I definitely had to do it again,” she said, highly recommending the process.
