Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney are engaged

Lady Gaga and longtime beau Taylor Kinney are engaged to be married, the Los Angeles Times has confirmed.

“He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day, and I said YES!,” Gaga wrote on Instagram, where she posted a picture Monday showing her heart-shaped engagement ring.

The “Chicago Fire” actor, 33, popped the question at a Manhattan restaurant on Valentine’s Day, according to the executive editor of New York’s Times Herald-Record, who happened to be dining at Joanne Trattoria -- owned by Gaga’s parents -- when the 28-year-old singer was showing off her ring.

“I heard the singer say ‘it was time’ as she flashed the ring around,” Barry Lewis wrote in his story about his brush with fame.

Kinney and Gaga -- real name Stefani Germanotta -- met in mid-2011 while shooting the video for “You and I,” in which a shirtless Kinney tends to this lady in various incarnations, simulates sex with her and dons a white tux to marry her.

Rumors that they were dating surfaced soon after.

“We were in the middle of this secene and I remember that he kissed me,” the “Poker Face” singer revealed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2013. “And it wasn’t scripted for him to kiss me, and I was sort of like, umm, was that real or was that fake? And he just didn’t really say anything, and that was fine by me, and we just kept filming.”

In hindsight, we’re willing to guess it was real ...

And as for her outlandish reputation meshing with his rather reserved image?

“He’s a hidden weirdo,” she told DeGeneres. “He is extremely strange, actually, and we complement each other’s weirdness.”

Thank goodness Kinney finally made his move -- because a couple of weeks back at the Grammys, it looked as if Gaga was about to lose her heart to Tony Bennett.
