Rock the Vote spokesman Lil Jon on a plane to avoid being a nonvoter

All Lil Jon wanted to do was vote. It would be a little embarrassing if he didn't, as the rapper is the 2014 Rock the Vote spokesman who remixed his hit "Turn Down for What" into "Turn Out for What" to get out the vote.

In the video, above, he bellows, "I'm voting in midterm elections!"

The rapper, whose real name is Jonathan Smith, posted to his Instagram account this morning that he was flying to Atlanta because Georgia, where he is registered to vote, never sent him an absentee ballot. Lil Jon added, " U CANT DISCOURAGE ME! #VOTETODAY @TURNOUTFORWHAT #ROCKTHEVOTE."

Richard Barron, director of registration and elections in Fulton County Georgia, tells us Lil Jon's ballot is in the mail. He said the county received Lil Jon’s application for an absentee ballot on Oct. 24 and mailed it to him the following Monday.

“Voters can request up to six months before an election, but if you mail them in closer to Election Day anything can happen with the mail,” he said. “It will probably be waiting for him when he gets back to L.A.”
