Lily James says tiny ‘Cinderella’ waist is an illusion fit for a princess

Don’t worry about Lily James and her itty-bitty Cinderella waist, folks.

“I’m so healthy. I’ve got hips and boobs and a bum and a small waist,” Disney’s new live-action princess said in response to those who think her look in the fairy-tale film sets an unreasonable standard of beauty and must have been digitally altered.

However, it’s all an illusion brought to life with some help from the “Cinderella” costume designer, James told the Los Angeles Times’ Amy Kaufman earlier this week.

“The skirt’s big and the corset pulls me in, and that’s the point,” the 25-year-old said of her character’s trademark ball gown, noting she’d been gifted with a naturally wee waist to start with.

Those familiar with celebrities who wear waist-trainers -- hello, Kim Kardashian and Amber Rose -- know what such cinching garments can do.

Any uproar over whether her figure was digitally altered in promotional materials for the movie is “very hypocritical,” James said, and those raising the unhealthy-body-image flag “contradict themselves, and they’re drawing more attention to it.”

Incidentally, she love-love-loved the gown from the moment she put it on.

“It’s what made me feel like I could be a princess,” she said.

“Cinderella,” costarring “Game of Thrones” veteran Richard Madden as Prince Charming, opens March 13.
