Patrick Schwarzenegger wasn’t cheating on Miley Cyrus in Cabo, he says

C’mon, people, Patrick Schwarzenegger can have a friend who’s a girl who’s not his girlfriend, Miley Cyrus.

Photos surfaced Monday of the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s beau getting close with a woman in Cabo over the weekend, and TMZ pointed out that the two were close enough to be doing body shots off each other.

Check out the video above for a glimpse of that action, plus pics of them embracing -- him in swim trunks, her in a bikini, ‘cause it’s Cabo for Pete’s sake -- and holding hands.

“Omg. It’s one of my best friends girlfriend...,” Schwarzenegger tweeted Monday, presumably after seeing the implication that he was stepping out on Cyrus just days after he dined with her and his mom in Beverly Hills. “Would NEVER do anything against my GF.....”

He explained, for those who were still confused: “Girls have guy friends and guys have friends that are girls...”

Meanwhile, Miley may be having fun with those who would parse her Instagram feed for meaningful messages: She’s got a shot up of a woman with her mouth stuffed full of hot dogs, captioned “Current mood,” and a pic of her pet pig Bubba Sue with the caption “My baby.”

C’mon, kids, she already told us she’s just messing with us when she’s on Instagram.
