Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West makes modeling debut in Chanel

Kim Kardashian is passing her gilded torch to daughter North West, who can now legitimately be called a fashionista and a model.

The well-heeled 1-year-old already has an enviable high-end wardrobe, and now she’s building a portfolio to boot, as seen in a photo spread in Carine Roitfeld’s fifth edition of CR Fashion Book that was quickly touted online by the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star.

So much for not profiting off their youngster — or having her likeness be pandered to magazines.

Roitfeld, who previously tapped the reality star for her codex, is the former editor of French Vogue and friend to Kardashian and her rapper husband, Kanye West.

The wee West, photographed by Michael Avedon, is featured in a black-and-white portrait sitting down and looking off to the side. She’s wearing a simple little ensemble and her ears are pierced, but the real scene stealers are the designer duds highlighted by the mag: a mini Chanel purse and a floral brooch. (What, nothing from the Kardashian Kids line?!)

Then there’s the quote from the French fashion house’s designer that puts it all in perspective: “North West the Future: It’s never too early to care about fashion — Karl Lagerfeld”

The 13-month-old is no stranger to high-end glossies either. Last April she was featured in her parents’ infamous pre-wedding Vogue shoot when the trio sat for ultra-stylized family portraits.

CR revealed the teeny tabloid sensation as “the youngest subject to be photographed” for their “Legends” story, which “celebrates the unconventional side of fashion icon status,” the magazine said.

“In this case, we’d agree that thirteen months is on the earlier end [to care about fashion], but CR predicts a bright fashion future for the already famed daughter of Kanye and past cover star, Kim.”

Indeed, Kardashian posed for the magazine’s fall/winter issue last September, which was shot by Lagerfeld. The edgy — if not bizarre — shoot featured the mom-to-be at eight months pregnant with her heir apparent and showed Kardashian in various states of dress and undress.

We’re so glad they didn’t have that creative vision for this shoot.
