Rihanna shuts down Beyonce rivalry rumors

Rihanna isn’t giving much credence to the Internet noise pitting her against Beyonce.

The “BBHMM” songstress addressed the rumored rivalry between the pop diva and herself that has been percolating ever since Bey dropped her politically charged anthem “Formation” in February on the heels of RiRi releasing her surprise album “Anti” the week prior. But it appears that Rihanna sees the cattiness as a figment of the Internet’s infinite imagination.

“Here’s the deal,” she said in the April issue of Vogue. “They just get so excited to feast on something that’s negative. Something that’s competitive. Something that’s, you know, a rivalry. And that’s just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that.”

Vogue’s featured star for April, who emerges on the cover like a sartorial mermaid in a multicolored Tom Ford gown, also addressed her relationship status in the mag. She’s single, she said, because she just doesn’t have time for a man right now. She barely has time to exercise, though you’d never believe it given the gun-toting lingerie get-up she was recently photographed wearing on the set of her music video.

“I am probably going to have like four days of tour rehearsal in total, which is Freaking. Me. Out,” said the singer, who kicks off on her “Anti” tour in Florida this month. “My schedule is so crazy right now .... It’s definitely going to be a challenge when I do decide to pursue a relationship … but I have hope!”

The 28-year-old has been repeatedly linked to her “Work” collaborator Drake, and concert footage from earlier this week showed the two of them grinding onstage in Miami leaving very little to the imagination, according to TMZ.

The two have been linked on and off since 2009 and she sweetly gushes over Champagne Papi -- professionally, of course -- in her sit-down with the fashion mag, which took place the day after they shot the steamy “Work” music video in the Caribbean.

“Everything he does is so amazing,” she said, going on to describe their video as the kind of party they “would go to in the Caribbean and just dance and drink and smoke and flirt.”

Vogue’s April issue hits newsstands March 29.
