In the First Order (the new name for the Empire in “Star Wars: Episode VII”) Captain Phasma is the shiny new big bad. This new character is allegedly the muscle behind the new dark side, and her costume, which was on display at Anaheim’s D23 convention, gleams. Take a look.

Phasma is played by “Game of Thrones’” Gwendoline Christie, and hopefully that means there will be plenty of “Star Wars”-type sword swinging and butt kicking happening with fists of mirrored armor. Her outfit (dubbed by fans as the chrometrooper) is a shiny spectacle.

The chrome suit also influenced the character name and director J.J. Abrams. “Phasma I named because of the amazing chrome design that came from Michael Kaplan’s wardrobe team,” Abrams said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “It reminded me of the ball in ‘Phantasm,’ and I just thought, ‘Phasma sounds really cool.’”
