The space band is back together. Watch the first teaser trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”
They’re back. Marvel has released the first teaser for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” giving fans a quick look at Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Yondu, baby Groot and even Nebula in the upcoming sequel.
The teaser opens with the familiar melody of Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling” before transitioning into quick cuts of various scenes and characters. It leads into a voice-over from Drax (Dave Bautista), who claims, “There are two types of beings in the universe: those who dance, and those who do not.” It quickly becomes clear that the Destroyer is having a sort of heart-to-heart discussion with Peter Quill (Chris Pratt).
The footage was released shortly after “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn shared the first look at the teaser poster for the film.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” of course, is the follow-up to the 2014 film also directed by Gunn. The film, written by Gunn and Nicole Perlman, introduced the comic book superhero team to a wider audience. The film grossed over $773.3 million worldwide, becoming the third-highest grossing Marvel film at the time.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is set to hit theaters May 5.
