Tinariwen Formed some 30 years ago in the refugee camps of Libya, this band of Tuareg musicians rose to fame after the release of “Aman Iman” in 2007. InkSlam The annual spoken-word poetry festival returns for four days of writing and performing workshops and nightly slams. The fest kicks off with Ink’d Out, a showcase of work by LGBT poets, and Storytellers, featuring Brian Finkelstein, Jenna Brister, Ron Babcock and others. Greenway Court Theatre, 544 N. Jesse Ball and Daniel Orozco The two writers each read from recent works. Ball’s novels include his latest, “The Curfew,” and “Samedi the Deafness” (a finalist for the Believer book award).
