All-star Super Bowl parties to feature LMFAO, the Roots
Fans traveling to Indianapolis for the big game have their own defense against the expected 40-degree temperatures and rain: rum. And LMFAO.
Rum maker Bacardi turns 150 this year, and to mark the occasion the brand and Rolling Stone magazine are setting up shop at Super Bowl XLVI for both a Saturday night party and a Sunday tailgater. Taking over Indianapolis’ Crane Bay event space, the lineup of those slated to play Saturday night reads like a hit-maker wish list, including LMFAO, Lupe Fiasco, Cobra Starship and Gym Class Heroes. The Sunday tailgate party, in the same space, features Jane’s Addiction and the Roots. Unlike most such celeb-heavy industry events, all this party rockin’ is open to the public.
Invited names include tennis pro Andy Roddick, funny lady Anna Faris, Jon Hamm, Jeff Gordon, Marc Anthony, Terrell Owens and Matt Bomer. A vampire will stalk the space as “Twilight Saga” star Nikki Reed joins Joe Jonas, Erin Andrews, Kate Mara, Vivica Fox and the boys of One Republic. “Captain America” Chris Evans will be in the house to heighten the patriotic swell, as will Adam Levine. An easy bet is Levine jumping onstage to belt “Stereo Hearts,” the Gym Class Heroes single on which he’s featured. Take your own chances on the game.
Tickets are available, but get ready to pay Super Bowl prices. Saturday party tickets are going for $975 on Fanfaretix.com (which, at press time, also had seats available for the actual game). Go to the website or call (317) 876-3338.
