Mark Wahlberg, weatherman? For anyone wishing Wahlberg could step into their shoes for a day, a few Philadelphia morning newscasters got the chance.

Along with “Broken City” director Allen Hughes, the “Ted” star did the traffic and weather report for WTXF’s “Good Day Philadelphia” Wednesday while revealing a few newscast secrets during the stunt -- such as, how do they know where to point on the green screen? (Answer: There are monitors on the side of the screen that help them direct their gesticulations.)

Wahlberg delivered a not-too-shabby weather report; it was supposed to be given by Hughes, but he upstaged the director big time. Watch the full video below.

“OK, let me get this seven-day forecast here. Tomorrow expected about 48 high and 37 degrees low,” he said.

On to traffic, where he went on to ad lib most of the segment while pointing all over the place and speaking in all sorts of accents.

“Expect delays here ... stop and get yourself a hoagie,” he joked.

The two were in the studio to talk about their latest film when they took over the telecast. Wahlberg, a Boston native, had revealed his love for Philly at a screening of the film in town the night before.
