Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood to duet for Billboard Awards
Two of country music’s biggest female stars -- Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood -- will team up for a performance May 18 at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.
The singers, who often compete with one another on awards shows for top female country vocalist honors, will harmonize on “Something Bad” from Lambert’s forthcoming album, “Platinum,” which will be released June 3.
“She’s such an awesome singer,” Lambert told Pop & Hiss this week while in Los Angeles doing interviews about her fifth studio release. “You don’t see women getting together very often in our genre, so this is great to get to do this with Carrie.”
Underwood is one of the finalists for the fan-voted Milestone Award, along with Ellie Goulding and OneRepublic. Ballots are being cast online at billboard.com/milestone through the first two hours of the show, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Other previously announced performers for the ABC telecast include Jennifer Lopez, Luke Bryan, Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons, 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo, John Legend, OneRepublic, Pitbull and Ricky Martin.
