Britney Spears to issue new single, ‘Ooh La La’
Britney Spears is set to release her first solo single since 2011. That’s the good news. The bad news? The track is for an animated kids film.
Spears’ new single, “Ooh La La,” was co-written by a seeming army of scribes including pop mastermind Dr. Luke and Cirkut (who together are responsible for hits from Spears, Flo Rida, Jessie J and Rihanna), plus Ammo, Bonnie McKee (Spears, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson), J Kash, Lola Blanc and Fransisca Hall.

Dr. Luke, Ammo and Cirkut produced the single, which will play over the end credits of the upcoming film “The Smurfs 2.” The film is set to hit theaters July 31. Spears’ label, RCA Records, says more information on the song (which hopefully includes an exact release date) will be announced soon.
“Ooh La La” is the singer’s first solo single since her last album, 2011’s “Femme Fatale,” which included such top 10 hits as “Hold It Against Me,” “Till the World Ends” and “I Wanna Go.” She is featured on will.i.am’s current club smash, “Scream & Shout.”
Spears has reportedly been hard at work on the follow-up to “Femme Fatale” and eyeing a two-year Las Vegas residency deal with Caesars Entertainment.
