Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban take early CMA Awards
Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw and Keith Urban head into tonight’s CMA Awards show with two new trophies already in hand. Their collaboration on the hit single “Highway Don’t Care” was announced as an early winner of both musical event and video of the year.
The pre-telecast wins were announced this morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America” by anchor Robin Roberts.
The double win brings McGraw’s lifetime CMA award total to 14, while Swift now has nine and Urban has snagged eight over the years. Swift is nominated for four more, including a possible third trophy for “Highway Don’t Care” if it wins in the single of the year category. She’s also nominated for album for “Red,” female vocalist and the top prize of entertainer of the year, which she’s taken home twice before.
