Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Phoenix to play iHeartRadio Festival
Top-40 heavyweights including Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Kesha will perform at the third iHeartRadio Music Festival, presented by the radio conglomerate Clear Channel and scheduled to take place Sept. 20-21 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Other pop hitmakers in the lineup, which Ryan Seacrest announced Monday morning, include fun., Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Miguel and Maroon 5.
But as in its first two editions, iHeartRadio will also showcase rock (with performances by Muse, Phoenix and Thirty Seconds to Mars), country (Tim McGraw and Keith Urban), hip-hop (J. Cole) and electronic dance music (Tiesto, Zedd and Benny Benassi).
And it will drop some old-timers into the mix: Elton John is to play, as is Queen featuring Adam Lambert.
Last year at iHeartRadio, Green Day attracted widespread media attention when frontman Billie Joe Armstrong stopped the band’s set to complain about what he said was the set being cut short. Days later, Armstrong revealed that he was entering treatment for substance abuse.
