Demi Lovato leaves rehab: What will be her next move?
Disney star Demi Lovato has left her Illinois rehab facility. The photo was taken on Friday, Jan. 28 in Santa Monica -- and we’re thrilled that Lovato is looking healthy, happy, and sufficiently caffeinated.
The singer and actress returned home to Los Angeles where, according to TMZ, she plans to continue her treatment for “physical and emotional issues” and spend time with family and friends. Sources close to her say that she’s looking to get back to her regular routine.
Since entering rehab, Lovato has had a bumpy ride. Her lawyers reached a financial settlement with Alex Welch, a backup dancer on the Jonas Brothers tour with Lovato who Lovato punched in the face before she left the tour for rehab.
Lovato’s Disney show, “Sonny With a Chance,” was in danger of cancellation before producers came up with a plan to shoot the “show-within-a-show” -- called “So Random” -- without Lovato’s title character.
Finally, rumors swirled that Lovato appears in a sex tape that was being shopped around the adult market. Though the existence of the tape was never confirmed, Lovato found an unlikely ally in Vivid Entertainment’s porn king Steve Hirsch, who said that he’d happily bury the tape for the starlet if it did surface. “After everything that Demi Lovato has been through, we would never consider distributing a sex tape with her. In fact, we would purchase it and either give it back to her or destroy it,” he told TMZ.
Given that she’s back in La La Land, we’re guessing Lovato won’t waste much time before getting back to work - at least on “Sonny With a Chance.” Luckily, she probably won’t need much career rehab at this point. If her Twitter fans are any indication, the world still loves her and will welcome her back when she’s ready.
