The Big Bang Theory The smart comedy’s 10th season begins with an awkward moment after parents (Laurie Metcalf and Judd Hirsch) of friends Sheldon and Leonard (Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki) spent an evening together. Guest stars Christine Baranski and Keith Carradine also return, and after “8 Simple Rules,” Katey Sagal again plays Kaley Cuoco’s mother. 8 p.m. CBS
The Voice Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are judges as the singing competition returns for a new season. 8 p.m. NBC
Gotham Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) charts a new course for himself as a bounty hunter as a new season of the superhero origin series begins. Erin Richards, Jessica Lucas and David Mazouz also star. 8 p.m. Fox
Fashion Police Fashions from “The 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards” are dissected, critiqued, ridiculed and lauded by Melissa Rivers, Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski in this new episode of the occasional series. 8 p.m. E!
Food Network Star Kids In the “Hollywood Power Lunch” episode, finalists must prepare two of their favorite lunch dishes for mentors Tia Mowry and Donal Skehan. Special guests include Loni Love and Neel Sethi (“The Jungle Book”). 8 p.m. Food
Kevin Can Wait Kevin James’ return to TV comedy, starring as a cop trying to ease into retirement. Erinn Hayes, Taylor Spreitler, Mary Charles-Jones and James DiGiacomo also star. 8:30 p.m. CBS
The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey The documentary miniseries featuring an expert reexamination of the headline-grabbing murder case ends. 9 p.m. CBS
Lucifer Lucifer (Tom Ellis) develops a mother complex when his mom (Tricia Helfer) escapes from hell. Lauren German also stars, and Aimee Garcia joins the cast. 9 p.m. Fox
The Good Place Kristen Bell stars as a newly deceased woman trying to make up for her misdeeds during her lifetime in the two-episode premiere of this new afterlife-comedy. Ted Danson also stars. 10 and 10:30 p.m. NBC
