‘The Talk’ hosts do the show without wearing makeup
“The Talk” had its third season premiere on Monday, and the only thing missing was the makeup. “The Talk’s” Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sheryl Underwood and Sharon Osborne all hosted the show without any makeup, wearing only towels and robes.
At the top of the show, the five hosts were shown in a cluster chanting, “It’s season three, we’re makeup free!” The women were then unveiled to the audience with their hands over their faces before revealing how they looked without a stint in the makeup chair.
The “Makeup Free Monday” show was credited to Gilbert, who told “Entertainment Tonight,” “There’s not many single -- one person -- that would go on TV in front of millions of people with no makeup, so to be in a group of people that are willing to do that together is really cool. It shows that we’re willing to show parts of our lives that not everybody is willing to show. We really are girlfriends and because we feel safe with each other, we’re willing to show more of ourselves to the public.”
The day’s guests, including Jamie Lee Curtis and women of daytime TV soaps, also appeared without makeup.
“There is no topic more important... who cares what these young people are doing. I am telling you -- happy that these people got married -- what you guys did here today is breathtaking,” Curtis said when she sat down.
“The impact this is going to have... you have no idea,” she continued.
