Amber Tamblyn to play lesbian daughter on ‘Two and a Half Men’
Charlie Harper often behaved like a child on “Two and a Half Men.” Now you can meet his grown child.
The producers of CBS’ comedy smash have picked Amber Tamblyn to play Jenny, the lesbian daughter of the late playboy Harper (Charlie Sheen). Harper is supposed to have fathered Jenny out of wedlock during one of his many flings.
A source close to the production confirmed the deal but neither the studio nor the network would comment.
The new role attracted great attention earlier this year, when it became apparent that Angus T. Jones — who grew up with the formerly top-rated comedy and was the “half” referred to in the title — would be getting a lot less screen time. In a bizarre incident last year, Jones was filmed calling “Two and a Half Men” “filth” and advising people not to watch it.
Sheen himself was fired from the show after tangling publicly with his boss, executive producer Chuck Lorre.
Officially, Tamblyn is being brought aboard for just five episodes, but if audiences like the character, she could stay on.
Tamblyn, now 30, rose to fame a decade ago in CBS’ fantasy drama “Joan of Arcadia,” about a teenager who talks to God.
What do you think of Tamblyn getting hired for the show?
