‘Duck Dynasty’s’ Jase Robertson claims he was ‘facially profiled’

His unscripted series on A&E may be grabbing record-high ratings, but “Duck Dynasty” star Jase Robertson still can’t seem to get star treatment. The bearded reality star appeared on “Live! With Kelly and Michael” on Wednesday and recounted how he’d been escorted out of his fancy New York City hotel because the staff thought he was a homeless person.

Robertson, whose shaggy beard and hair is a family trait (all his brothers but one, Alan, share the same look), approached an employee of the hotel to ask a question.

“I asked where the bathroom was, and he said, ‘Right this way, sir.’ He was very nice. He walked me outside, pointed down the road and said, ‘Good luck.’

“So I circled back around, and my wife said, ‘What happened?’ and I just said I just got kicked out.”

Robertson joked with Kelly and Michael that he was the victim of a “facial profiling” incident.

The Robertson family runs its successful duck call business, Duck Commander, from West Monroe, La. But the family has been gaining steadily larger national exposure, reaching its latest height this week with the premiere of “Duck Dynasty’s” fourth season. The show grabbed an audience of 11.8 million, making it the single biggest audience for a non-scripted series on cable ever.

As for Robertson’s hotel mishap, he told Kelly and Michael he continued to stay in the hotel. But if his series continues to get the ratings the fourth season premiere got, chances are good those moments will become less frequent.
