Paley Center invites Hulu’s ‘Difficult People’ to PaleyFest Los Angeles

Hulu is finally having its moment in the PaleyFest sun with Tuesday’s announcement that “Difficult People” has been added to the PaleyFest Los Angeles 2016 lineup.

The series centers around the friendship of two embittered comedians, Billy and Julie, trying to make it big in New York City. Portrayed by Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner, the comedy goes all in on its characters’ less savory personality traits and is buoyed by a stellar cast of supporting characters.

Joining Klausner, who also serves as creator, writer and executive producer on “Difficult People,” and Eichner on the PaleyFest panel are Andrea Martin, James Urbaniak, Cole Escola and executive producer and showrunner Scott King.

“Being included in this year’s PaleyFest LA is a huge honor,” said Klausner in a news release issued by the Paley Center for Media. “The Paley Center was one of the first entities to be hip enough, in a sea of navel-gazing film and high-art snobs, to realize how groundbreaking, vital and important the medium of television has always been, and to give its creatives their due.”

“Difficult People” is the first Hulu original series to be featured at PaleyFest LA and will join an already announced lineup that includes “Empire,” “Better Call Saul,” “Scream Queens,” “black-ish,” “Supergirl,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Fear the Walking Dead,” “American Horror Story: Hotel,” as well as a special night honoring the work of Dick Wolf (“Law & Order,” “Chicago Fire”).

The panel for “Difficult People” will be held March 18 at 7:30 pm at Dolby Theatre. Tickets are currently on sale for PaleyFest Los Angeles, which begins March 11.
