‘Sons of Liberty’ miniseries coming to History
History’s next miniseries will look back at the American Revolution with the six-hour “Sons of Liberty.”
The miniseries will go into production this summer and will star Ben Barnes, Ryan Eggold, Michael Raymond James, Rafe Spall and Henry Thomas as the men who helped start the American Revolution.
Barnes will play Sam Adams, Eggold will play Joseph Warren, James will play Paul Revere, Spall will play John Hancock and Thomas will play John Adams.
Additionally, “Breaking Bad” and “Under the Dome” star Dean Norris will play Benjamin Franklin.
“From the Boston Tea Party to the Declaration of Independence, ‘Sons of Liberty’ will tell the rebellious story of America’s greatest fight for freedom,” History’s Executive Vice President and General Manager Dirk Hoogstra said in a statement.
Kari Skogland, who directed episodes of “Boardwalk Empire” and “Vikings,” is set to direct the miniseries. Stephen David, whose production company also oversaw the History miniseries “The Men Who Built America” and “The World Wars,” co-wrote “Sons of Liberty” and is its executive producer.
