Additionally, “Breaking Bad” and “Under the Dome” star Dean Norris will play Benjamin Franklin.

“From the Boston Tea Party to the Declaration of Independence, ‘Sons of Liberty’ will tell the rebellious story of America’s greatest fight for freedom,” History’s Executive Vice President and General Manager Dirk Hoogstra said in a statement.

Kari Skogland, who directed episodes of “Boardwalk Empire” and “Vikings,” is set to direct the miniseries. Stephen David, whose production company also oversaw the History miniseries “The Men Who Built America” and “The World Wars,” co-wrote “Sons of Liberty” and is its executive producer.
